Course overview
This programme builds a rigorous grounding in accounting theory and practice while developing commercial and leadership capability. Students study financial and management accounting, audit, taxation, governance, risk and international finance, connecting technical knowledge with the wider economic, legal and social environment.
Teaching and learning
Teaching is delivered through lectures and seminars, with approximately 12 contact hours per week.
Students complete around 28 hours of independent study per week to develop accounting knowledge, analytical ability and professional practice.
Professional recognition
The programme is accredited by ACCA, ICAEW and CIMA as published by the provider.
The published course information states that it can provide exemptions from 9 of the 13 ACCA papers, subject to current professional-body rules.

Assessment

Assessment uses a combination of coursework and examinations, with some modules assessed through coursework only.
Tasks test technical accounting knowledge, numerical analysis, professional judgment, communication and the application of theory to business decisions.
Entry requirements

Academic entry
- A levels: BCC, or an accepted international equivalent.
- GCSE Mathematics grade C/4 or an accepted equivalent.
- A Merit profile in an eligible UK Level 3 qualification worth 180 credits and/or 1,060 guided learning hours may also be considered.
- An eligible foundation degree or International Foundation Programme with at least 1,060 guided learning hours or 120 CATS/60 ECTS credits and an average of 55% may be considered.
English language
- IELTS 6.0 with no individual component below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
- Published alternatives include HKDSE English Language grade 4 overall with no sub-skill below 3, CBSE/ICSE Standard XII English at 70%, or WAEC C6.
International and alternative entry
Equivalent international and alternative qualifications are considered against the current published requirements for the course.
