Course overview
A practical two-year route into business and management.
Combine academic study with practical business learning across management, marketing, finance, data, project delivery, operations, sustainability, leadership and customer experience, with the option to progress to Level 6 study.
Year One
Build foundations in academic and professional success, enterprise and innovation, management theory, finance, marketing, negotiation and business data analysis.
Year Two
Apply project and operations management while exploring sustainable growth, social enterprise, values-driven leadership and contemporary customer experience.
Progression
The qualification is equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree. After successful completion, you can progress into employment or apply to enter Year 3 at Level 6 of an appropriate degree to gain a full honours qualification.
Blended learning
Combine face-to-face campus teaching with live online sessions. Daytime students typically have one campus day and one online day, while evening/weekend patterns usually use two campus evenings and one live-online weekend day.

Assessment uses a range of methods designed to demonstrate practical industry skills and academic knowledge.
Teaching typically includes around 12 hours of lectures and seminars each week, alongside approximately 26 hours of independent study.
Skills-based learning and applied business tasks connect management theory with workplace practice.

Academic requirements
- 48 UCAS tariff points.
- A minimum of two completed A-levels, a BTEC Extended Diploma at PPP, a BTEC Diploma at MP, or an equivalent qualification.
English language
- GCSE English grade 4/C or above.
- Functional Skills Level 2 English.
- An alternative English assessment may be available, with 55% required.
- Certified translations may be requested where qualifications are not in English.
Interview
An admissions interview may explore your motivation for the course. An academic interview may assess readiness where standard requirements are not met or an applicant has been out of education for some time.

Is this the same as a Foundation Year?
No. This is a two-year FdSc Foundation Degree, equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree. It can lead directly to employment or to appropriate Level 6 top-up study.
Can I progress to a full honours degree?
After successful completion, you can apply to enter Year 3 at Level 6 of an appropriate degree, subject to the receiving course's progression requirements and availability.
Are the modules confirmed?
The programme is subject to validation for a February 2027 intake, and module content may change in line with industry and academic developments.
