A practical route into business and further study.
An applied two-year business qualification covering management, marketing, accounting, leadership and strategy, designed to support employment or progression to a top-up degree.
Year One
Build a practical grounding in accounting, entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, human resources, marketing and the contemporary business environment.
Year Two
Move into strategy, team development, digital and international marketing, organisational behaviour and a substantial applied research project.
Applied learning
Develop skills through research, directed study and realistic workplace scenarios rather than relying only on theoretical study.
Progression
Complete Levels 4 and 5 before moving into employment or applying for an eligible one-year Level 6 top-up route towards a full bachelor’s degree.

Assessment
Practical ways to show what you know.
There are no formal examinations on this course. Assessment can include presentations, assignments, case-study analysis, portfolios of evidence and business reports.
Other practical formats may include role play, poster presentations and marketing campaigns.
Independent research, homework and group work are an essential part of the programme, with tutor guidance provided throughout your studies.
Entry requirements

Applicants aged 18+
- A Level 3 qualification or Access to Higher Education certificate.
- GCSE English grade 4/C or CEFR B2. An English test at a partner campus may be available.
- A successful academic interview.
Applicants aged 21+
Applicants without the standard qualifications may be considered if relevant academic, professional or vocational experience demonstrates commitment and readiness for the programme.

- Attend the required admissions interview and complete any written or numeracy assessment specified for the course.
- The course provider makes the final admissions decision.

Tuition fees may increase in later years in line with government policy and inflation.
Funding your study
Eligible students may be able to apply for a UK Government Tuition Fee Loan to cover course fees.
A Maintenance Loan may also be available to help with living costs while studying. Eligibility depends on personal circumstances, the course and the provider.

Can I progress to a full degree?
The HND covers Levels 4 and 5 and can support progression to an eligible one-year Level 6 top-up course, subject to the receiving provider’s entry rules.
Are there formal examinations?
No formal examinations are currently required. Assessment uses practical formats such as assignments, presentations, case studies, portfolios and reports.
What is the usual timetable?
The published timetable is normally two weekdays per week, around 9:45am to 3:15pm, but current class availability should be confirmed before applying.
