Course overview
Centred on health protection, health improvement and service development, this MPH explores the social, economic, environmental and political factors influencing population health.
Programme structure
Study six Level 7 modules, including postgraduate research preparation and a final integrative or major project that applies learning to a substantial professional or academic question.
Study pattern
Full-time standard delivery: on campus 2 days a week, Monday–Friday, usually 10:00am–5:00pm.
Part-time standard delivery: on campus 1 day a week, Monday–Friday, usually 10:00am–5:00pm.
September non-standard delivery: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 6:00pm–9:00pm, plus Saturday, 10:00am–5:00pm.

Assessment reflects professional practice and can include written coursework, reports, oral presentations, examinations, online quizzes, in-class tests, simulations, practical projects and reflective work.
Teaching combines lectures, seminars, group work, case-study analysis and applied activities that connect academic principles with real organisational challenges.
A final integrative or major project demonstrates advanced independent research, critical analysis and professional reporting.

Postgraduate entry
- A UK honours degree at 2:2 or above, or an equivalent recognised international qualification, is normally required.
- Relevant professional experience is considered as part of the application.
- Applicants who do not meet the standard academic grade may still be considered where their life or work experience demonstrates suitability for postgraduate study.
English language
- Applicants should have previously been taught in English and have sufficient command of English for postgraduate study, or provide IELTS 6.5 or an accepted equivalent.
- International qualifications are assessed against current country-specific requirements.
International qualifications
Recognised international degrees, relevant country-specific qualifications and approved Pre-Master's routes may be considered against current entry requirements.
