Course overview
The programme adds a pre-Master's year before an eligible full-time Master's degree, allowing students to develop academic language, study skills and subject knowledge. It is suitable for subject changers, applicants returning after a break and students who want additional preparation for UK Master's-level study.

Published duration: 2 years: a 24-week pre-Master's stage plus a Master's degree. Modules are organised below by semester, status or pathway choice.

The preparation stage assesses academic writing, advanced research, seminar and interview skills and an extended writing project.
After successful progression, assessment follows the structure of the selected Oxford Brookes Master's degree.
Entry requirements

Academic entry
- A second-class honours degree or an accepted equivalent overseas qualification.
- The normal minimum age is 21; younger applicants may be considered case by case.
English language
- IELTS 5.5 with 5.5 in every skill. A University English course may be available for applicants below this level.
International and non-standard entry
Equivalent international qualifications and non-standard applications are considered against the current published requirements for the route.

- Qualification certificates and transcripts, with certified translations where required.
- Evidence of English-language ability where applicable.
- Passport and immigration documents where required for international applicants.
