Course overview
This industry-focused computing programme is informed by research and professional practice in software engineering, networks and cyber security. Students progress from computing principles and programming to secure systems, business intelligence, enterprise technology and a substantial computing project.
Foundation pathway
The Foundation Year develops data, research, communication and professional skills before automatic progression to Year 1 after successful completion.
Teaching and support
Students receive support from a personal tutor and use lectures, seminars, workshops, case work, simulations and guided independent study to connect theory with professional practice.
Standard delivery is on campus over two weekdays between Monday and Friday, normally from 10:00 to 17:00.
Professional recognition
The programme offers a pathway towards Chartered IT Professional recognition, subject to the professional body's current requirements.

Foundation Year entry
- A minimum of 40 UCAS Tariff points is required for Foundation Year entry.
- Applicants normally need GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C/4 or accepted equivalents.
- Applicants returning after five years away from study, and non-standard or mature applicants, may be required to complete an academic interview.
English language
- IELTS 6.0 with no component below 5.5, or an accepted equivalent English-language qualification.
Alternative entry
Relevant non-standard qualifications, professional development and recent work experience can be considered individually; an academic interview may be required.
